I thought this spot would be terrible to find a hitchhike; when I was hiking towards the car road I saw only one car per 5 to 10 minutes, but when I arrived at the road I got a ride from the second car that drove past! I might have been lucky, and would not recommended this spot in terms of weather; there is no shadow or shelter. However, sometimes on smaller roads cars are more willing to take you.―Woodpecker

from main bus/train station walk few hundred meters north, than when you see ruined building on the left, try across the street, on bus stop.―Anonymous

Mostar-Jablanica: Open area right after streetlight. I was trying to walk a bit more north to the gas stating waiting to cross the street. Not even 5 seconds of waiting to cross, a older Bosnian driving from Split offered to drive me. Stopped for coffee along the way with beautiful views of the the river and mountains. This country is awesome! :)―Anonymous

The best place to hitchike from Mostar to Medjugorje. The good thing is that is in shadow so we are protected from the hot Herzegovian sun.―Goran88

Went to Mostar from here. Even tho it might not look optimal on the map, I did find the spot rather nice. The cars didn’t go to fast, enough space to pull over, and the stretch between the road bends is long enough for the drivers to see you.―Anonymous

Really the best spot in front of former car wash, as cars do stop and as a local I used it tons of time to go to Međugorje and beyond. Cars are not going fast and will see you from intersection when on red light as well and make their call wether to stop or not. Although it seems odd trust me it's a good spot. From Međugorje, major crossing that goes to town and to other places you can get another ride for further. Loads of trucks as well. People are totally cool in this region―Anonymous
